If you’re Interviewing Naples Florida Law Firms, Read This Blog
If you’ve been injured in an accident and you’re in the process of interviewing one or more Naples law firms, there are a number of things you’ll want to keep in mind.
In addition to hiring an attorney who you feel understands the unique circumstances of your case, you’ll also want to hire someone who is experienced, knowledgeable and has a proven track record of helping prior clients get the compensation they deserve.
Below are just a few of the questions you’ll want to ask law firms before you decide who to go with.
What percentage of your caseload involves personal injury claimants?
The best thing you can do if you feel you have a personal injury claim is to work with an attorney that is experienced in this area of the law. If the firm you’re speaking with only does a very small number of these types of cases, you’ll be better served by hiring a law firm that’s more experienced in personal injury litigation.
How much will this cost?
Although many personal injury attorneys work on contingency, which means that attorney’s fees won’t need to be paid unless the case is successful, that’s not to say you won’t incur other expenses along the way. For example, you may need to pay up front for filing fees, court fees and other case-related expenses. Ask the attorney you’re speaking with for an honest assessment of what your out-of-pocket costs will look like.
How long will it take for my case to resolve?
Depending on the circumstances of your case, it could take years before your case is resolved. You’ll want to ask your attorney to provide you with an honest assessment of how long it will take for you to receive your settlement.
Do you think my case will be successful?
Although no one can predict the future, you’ll want to ask your attorney whether they think your case will be successful. This is especially important if your attorney will not take your case on contingency. You should ask if they think your case will settle before trial or if the matter will need to be decided by a jury.
