Laurie Smith is the Front Desk Receptionist for The Law Offices of Marc L. Shapiro, P.A. Below is her personal biography:
“When I moved to sunny Florida from the cold Western New York area — having worked as a legal assistant, then social services, and later as an administrative assistant in government — I wanted to take the best parts of those experiences. I have a college background and found a position that would allow me to work in a wonderful and welcoming environment with down to earth coworkers. The firm has a professional work ethic and a devotion to our clients.
I enjoy making people happy so when I interviewed (and later accepted for employment with The Law Offices of Marc L. Shapiro, P.A.) I knew I found my work family. We all work well under pressure and maintain a consistent, pleasant, and professional demeanor when communicating with the public and each other. I love that we are excellent at supporting our clients and community with passionate, talented, and experienced colleagues. This creates a great work culture where I feel heard and empowered.
As a Front Desk Receptionist, I take pride and value that I am more often than not the first person clients speak to. I strive to welcome people with a pleasant smile or empathetic voice. Being the Front Desk Receptionist is a not a “job” for me especially when the first thing you do every day is smile and be happy; have a positive attitude and help maintain a peaceful atmosphere everyday amongst all. It is up to me to have our clients remember us in a good and positive way. I am proud to be the first person clients see and at The Law Offices of Marc L. Shapiro, P.A. I get to create the first and last impression that our clients receive of our business.
Combining the best parts of my work experience, I am able to skillfully perform basic to complex office tasks at the firm with efficiency and pleasure amongst colleagues. I pride myself as an ambassador of sorts and enjoy my work. I am proud to be a member of this firm and contribute to its professional and family atmosphere.”
